Grace

I'm just amazed by King David. There are many things that he did sometimes just kept me thinking, when he said he will let God fight for him instead of going out to fight for himself. That to me demands a huge portion of faith, and that statement isn't as easy as it seems. How he killed Goliath, how closely his heart was knitted with God's heart. Simply amazing..

But no one is perfect. King David has his flaws as well. He was obsessed with women, and he had countless of them. And that is why his son, King Solomon had more wives then David himself. The bible made it clear to us that when the first generation did something bad, their next generation will surpass them indeed. Something that caught me thinking for awhile. God said he was the one who gave David his wives, so did God help him sin? God's hand was with David all these while even though he had many wives. David was obviously in sin, yet God still fight for him. Why, why and why..

I didn't really struggle with this, just something that made me think on the lessons God wanted me to learn. I somehow managed to understand it in about 3 days, the answer was simple. God is gracious. It is in his will that all these things will come to pass. David was at fault in the start and God didn't want that to happen, but David wanted his way instead of God's way. That somehow hardened his heart, yet God is gracious towards him! Wow, that completely blew my mind away.

Recently read Eric's blog again, and was blessed by that post. Although that post was like dated 17th January 08, I still find it meaningful and it is still applicable to me even right now. He said " Who am I to question God's sovereignty?" This statement will be hidden in my heart forever. We should be thankful that he sent his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to die for us on the cross, yet we still want more, and more answers.

The beauty of God will have to be his mysterious way of working, and our human mind will never be able to comprehend everything he has for us.

Break me Lord, for you use broken things.
